WINTER LANDSCAPE
Installation, steel swiss bunker, sheep skin, cooking pots, polystyrene iglo, plastic, lamps, water, ice skates. 15 x 20 x 3 meter, 2004.
During a three month residency called “The Fifth Season” where I lived in a psychiatric institution, I created a winter landscape, which was partly artificial and partly real - like the rest of the surroundings of the psychiatric institution. As soon as you would drive onto the terrain of the institution, you could feel as though you're being sidetracked, but then towards to a dead end. The changing curiosity and presence of the patients corresponded with the changing weather. The resulting influence on my project was an illusion of a winter landscape in a winter which was everything but strong.
